About this same time last year, i developed an injury that totally messed up my season, and the season following that. Not only did i get injured, i don’t even know how it happened. All i know was that, i had prepared for the season the same way i’ve always done: relaxing, getting mentally ready, practicing, the whole nine.
Considering the success i had from playing in the fall ’08 season, i knew the spring ’09 season would deliver nothing less than fireworks and satisfaction. I couldn’t have been more wrong.I must admit that i partly blamed my back injury on the dramatic changes in the rain last spring too. I blame the rain because the season started a little late due to its unpredictable nature. Some days it would rain, other days it wouldn’t. Most notably, it rained on days we planned on playing, or days before. This caused both the adult league and the spanish league games to be positioned at times that didn’t allow me to get fully recuperated. Imagine playing a game from 2:00 – 4:00pm, driving down to the next field to play the next game that starts at 5:00. I believe all that messed things up. The rain fell on very sporadic weeks too. Its dry one week which allows you play and then its wet on another which means you won’t, that stops a player from getting into form.
Well, whatever the situation will be i’ll be ready for it. Even if it means that i’ll have to play through the season in pain. The passion is way too strong to back down and lay blames here and there. So it’ll be all about will power now.
Unlike last season, the anticipation for the coming season will not lead to any disappointments. This video should do justice…by the way, i’m in the green jersey with shorts…enjoy
